My world in oils pastels
"I have always had a passion for art. My formal art journey began 30 years ago when I enrolled in an oil landscape course in Canberra. My tutor was a renowned Canberra artist who also created works with soft pastels and it was through her influence that my love for this medium began.  I was captivated by the application of pastel on paper and how light and atmosphere was able to be created by the touch of this lovely medium.

"Pastels were not well known in the 1990s and they have since grown in popularity and appreciated by art enthusiasts in the ensuing years.  The softness and range of colours in pastels allows the artist to create an illusion of light, shadow and mood and this is why I love to paint with this medium.

"I also paint in oil and the Australian landscape is an alluring subject for this medium where the mixing of colours allow you to create the harshness and sensitivity of the Australian landscape.

I hope you enjoy my paintings."
